Cheap Car Insurance for Teenagers

Looking for cheap car insurance for your teenage drivers? Here’s a true story you can learn from. A friend of mine (we’ll call him John Smith) has two teenagers (that’s right, two teenage drivers), he had car insurance from the same car insurance company for almost twenty years.

John contacted his longtime car insurance company to find out if he could “do anything” to move the drivers around (teenagers) - from one car to another – thereby lowering the premiums. His longtime car insurance company said no.

Desperate, John began to shop around. Eventually he found a car insurance company who would move drivers around (teenagers) on the different cars in an attempt to lower the car insurance premiums. I don’t remember exactly, but I think he said he would be saving close to $1000 a year in car insurance premiums – that’s cheap car insurance.

John went to his car insurance company of twenty years – explaining that he would be changing car insurance companies – he was polite and stated he regretted making the move but he would be forced to make the change - given the cheap car insurance he had found.

Hearing the bad news, his car insurance company had a “quick meeting” and decided they could help John after all. When he walked out of his car insurance company of twenty years – John had lowered is car insurance premiums by about $1200 per year (teenagers included with basically the same coverage).

Needless to say, he was very happy with the new premiums, but very unhappy with the way his long time car insurance company had treated him.

So what you say? Learn this: Car insurance companies – when push comes to shove - are much like any other business. They don’t want to lose a customer and they want to get new customers. Car insurance companies can be more flexible than they let on (usually) - if you give them a chance. Learn from this story – how you too can play one car insurance company off of another in order to get that cheap car insurance for teenagers that you and your family deserve.

You are so right about the insurance companies being a business and they don't want to lose a customer. Sometimes all you have to do is ask.
